Sopranos Apology

I want to apologize for last night's Sopranos series finale. I am not a big fan of the Sopranos, but when I have watched it I have stayed fairly entertained. Everyone else in my life seems to love it and watch it, and the literal anxiousness leading up to the final episode was so palpable you could cut it with dull objects. However, the reaction after the final episode topped the palpable-ness of the anxiousness of the lead-up to the episode. I heard it absolutely BLEW. However, most opinions still have it topping the incredibly disappointing Seinfeld finale. You know, the one where they end up in jail in the end. With two of the most popular shows in television history lacking the correct flavor for the audience, the question can only beg, how would you end a famous TV series like the Sopranos or Seinfeld? I think people take it for granted at how easy it would be to appease such a wide audience base.

I only ever saw a couple of Sopranos episodes. It sounds like a rival gang needs to shoot them all, like The Godfather movies.

I've never seen an episode of the Sopranos. It's somehow completely passed me by. But I often wonder why long running series need to have a big finale to finish with. I appreciate that some shows have threads running through them that probably need closure for the fans but I just think that the final ever episode of a show can be treated the same as an end of a season. It's the last one, it doesn't need to be special or different.
